Terms of Service
1. Who we are
China Cultured (品味中国) publishes and sells a digital guide to travelling, eating and understanding China. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean China Cultured; "you" means the person buying or using the guide.
2. What you are buying
You are buying a licence to access a digital product — a written guide delivered as downloadable files, in one of three editions:
- Essential — the e-book, city quick guides and cheat sheets.
- Complete — everything in Essential, plus the video course, festival calendar, newsletter and lifetime updates.
- Concierge — everything in Complete, plus a one-to-one planning call and written itinerary notes.
You are not buying physical goods, and nothing is shipped. Features listed for each edition on the pricing page are part of that edition.
3. Delivery
Access is sent to the email address you provide at checkout, normally within a few minutes of payment. If it has not arrived within one hour, check your spam folder and then write to us at the address in section 12 — we will resend it.
4. Licence and permitted use
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to read and use the guide for your own travel and study. You may keep your own copies on your own devices and print pages for personal use.
You may not resell, sublicense, publish, upload or redistribute the guide or any substantial part of it, use it in a commercial training or tour operation, or remove copyright notices from it.
5. Price and payment
Prices are shown in US dollars and are charged once, not as a subscription. Payment is handled by a third-party payment provider on its own secure page; we never receive or store your card details. Any sales tax, VAT, duties or bank fees that apply in your country are your responsibility unless collected at checkout.
We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order you have already paid for.
6. Refunds — 30-day money-back guarantee
If the guide is not what you expected, write to us within 30 days of purchase and we will refund the full amount you paid. You do not have to explain why, and you do not have to return or delete anything.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 business days of your request. Bank processing time is outside our control.
This guarantee applies to purchases made directly on chinacultured.com. It is in addition to any statutory right of withdrawal you have under the consumer law of your country. Because this is digital content supplied immediately, you agree that delivery begins at once; where local law allows, that ends the statutory cooling-off period, and the 30-day guarantee above replaces it.
7. Updates
Where your edition includes lifetime updates, we will make new editions of the guide available to the email address on your order for as long as the product is published. "Lifetime" means the life of the product, not the life of the buyer.
8. Accuracy — please read
The guide is a work of description and cultural explanation. Visas, entry rules, transport schedules, prices, opening hours and local customs change, and provincial practice differs between cities and between families. Nothing in the guide is legal, immigration or medical advice, and we cannot guarantee that any particular business, dish or festival will be available when you travel. Always confirm entry requirements with the relevant authority before you book.
9. Third-party content and links
The guide and site may link to third-party pages, shops or services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or terms.
10. Intellectual property
All text, maps, photographs, layout and design in the guide and on this site are owned by us or used under licence and are protected by copyright. Photographs credited to third parties remain the property of their authors and are used under the licence stated in the credit.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the edition concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including missed flights, cancelled trips or lost profit. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. Contact
Questions about an order, a refund or these terms: luohuiyong@126.com. We aim to reply within two business days.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published on the day you bought it; the date at the top of this page shows the current version. Material changes will also be announced on this page.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, and disputes will be heard by the competent court at our place of business. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country.
